PennyMac Mortgage Not Working

It’s ridiculous that Quicken closed the merged threads while pointing to an ongoing report that hasn't been updated since May. For many of us, our mortgages are the biggest monthly cost and source of debt that we have. So not having a automatic updated connection of our financial tracker to see the payment history and updates is a MAJOR issue. What we need to know is:

  1. What has been done by Quicken to fix this?
  2. Is there actually going to be a resolution?
  3. What can we REASONABLY do in the meantime to track our payments and principal remaining in Simplifi? As in exact steps, not just a link to "how to make a manual payment entry".

If PennyMac is preventing 3rd party financial apps from connecting, then that would be an update you could tell us and us users can press PennyMac to not be daft. But by not providing updates and closing threads about this, you are doing a massive disservice to us. I never had a problem like this with Mint, and that was a free service.

hello @bclev I tend to agree with you about the update for PennyMac this doesn't seem like it was handled well by Quicken here for all the reasons you said, especially since when trying to make the connection you get a notification saying that PennyMac is blocking the connection.

I would ask, do you have any contacts or a suggestion to share as far as how other users like me could reach out to PennyMac to pressure them to unblock Quicken Simplify? I'd ask the Mods the same question as well, because I'd love to try and help put pressure on PennyMac.

I reached out to PennyMac support and chatted with a CSR who said the following:

"Unfortunately, the Quicken aggregator does not allow for our 2-Factor authentication process within our security features, which is designed to protect you as our customer. Because your security is important to us, this is not something we foresee changing in the future."

I asked if I could remove the 2FA challenge temporarily and was told that it isn't an option.

[removed - accuracy]. Simplifi needs to be updated to support the 2FA challenge on PennyMac accounts. I know I have other accounts connected with Simplifi which do support the 2FA challenge, so, yea. Quicken, this is back on you. Paying customers here wanting access to one of the biggest mortgage companies out there… Please pay attention and properly prioritize.

I agree with all, the lack of transparency and the lack of communication to its customers is Highly Disrespectful.

You continue to do other fixes and updates with a perceived total lack of addressing this issue. Perception is reality.

I 100% guarantee without a doubt that those who are withholding this information would not accept or be tolerate of this situation.

Please show some respect Moderators and let your Customers know what is going on with real facts and not just a canned scripted answer.
