A Native Mac App

I've been a Quicken Classic for Mac user for years and just started to also use Simplifi over the past year. Quicken Classic is a great app! But, the problem is it is desktop only. There is a mobile app, but I can only download transactions/balances from the desktop, then they will sync to the mobile app. Simplifi improves on this by storing its data in the cloud, so I can see up-to-date data on any device. However, the web app doesn't even come close to the polish of Quicken Classic for Mac, and as a web app, I don't think it ever will.

We need a native Mac app to make Simplifi truly great!

I doubt we’ll see this, but voted for it anyway.

I do know iPad apps can be allowed to run on modern Mac’s, I would be all for enabling the iPad app to be downloaded on a Mac which should be as easy for them as checking a box and redeploying it.

The Quicken Companion app is lacking in many areas. I quit using it in favor of web based Quicken Classic. I use Safari on my iPad to access it and find it to work very well.

Agreed that the companion app needs work. One major missing feature of the tablet/mobile app that is missing for me is the ability to merge transactions. This is particularly a problem with the Apple Card which can -only- be synced on the app, so if it syncs and downloads a duplicate of a manual transaction, I have to switch to a web browser to merge them. More often, I just manually delete and adjust the transactions.

Upvoted! It should be fairly easy to make the iPad app run on newer M Macs as they are designed to run iPhone and iPad apps. All the developer has to do is turn the feature on so they are available in the Mac Store. So far few developers have done so. Obviously, there is probably a little fine tuning to do, but it would be great.

It won't help me as I am still on an Intel Mac but these will all be replaced in the next couple of years. Mine is already getting long in the tooth.
