Issues connecting to AMEX?

I haven't been able to connect to Amex for a couple of days. Getting and "institution not available" message. Tried adding again and got an External Partner Exception message.

I have no idea how Amex works. Are these cards provided through various banks and businesses much like Visa and Master Card? Or is Amex it's own financial institution that exclusively issues these cards?

At any rate, I would try this:

    • Go to my account on the Amex website.
    • Find where Amex lists outside app connections and delete connection used by QS.
    • Go back to QS and make the Amex account manual and delete the Amex main connection
    • Launch your browser in Incognito or InPrivate mode.
    • Navigate to simplifi.quicken.com and log into QS
    • Work through the add account process for the Amex account.
    • Be careful to match the manual Amex account to the online account when asked.

Don't know if that will make a difference but this has worked for me the few times I encountered connection issues.

My AmEx card is connecting fine. As far as I know, Danny, Amex is a separate provider like Visa, Mastercard and Discover. Amex does offer a few cards that work through Banks like MBNA (does that exist) and BOA. Those branded cards don't work through the Amex system but the banks that use them.
