Web App: Change the way Projected Cash Flow is plotted for Credit Cards (edited)

The projected cash flow for credit card transactions displays a graphic that is counter-intuitive to what a cash flow is. Purchases are listed as positive deflections and payments to the card are listed as negative deflections. For example, a $200 purchase causes the Projected Cash Flow graph to display $200 instead of -$200. Can you change the handling of these transactions to be the same as how they are managed for the Checking & Savings accounts?

A "high credit card balance" is generally thought of as being "high" because it is negative — "high" implies "up" so I'm a fan of credit accounts having negative balances on top of chart. I believe someone else already suggested this in the past.

To help me understand, isn’t the graph depicting credit card balance and not cash flow? And if it is charted correctly, why the positive deflection for a negative number?

I think it's because checking and savings 'accumulate' money, while credit card 'accumulates' debt. There may be others who vote for your idea, i'm just one vote.

I think the for specific "cashflow" page this needs to be change to what the OP is suggesting. As I look at the Cashflow page it makes it seem like I have way more money than I actually do, and means the page is not useful since it does not accurately reflect my actual cashflow. If not inverted be default, then I believe this should be a setting that we can change individually ourselves.

Actually, the tracking of credit card balances in QS is standard practice. You already know that a credit card or loan balance is "negative" and what is being portrayed in the cc balance projections is the projection of the INCREASE of your balance overtime. When I look at the other apps I use for personal finance tracking, I see the exact same portrayal of my credit card balances and other liability balances.

These account balance projections are not actual cash flow graphs since these are account specific and don't include projected planned spending. A true cash flow chart would aggregate all accounts used for your actual day-to-day income and outflow.

I reversed my vote when I became aware that this is inconsistent between web and mobile apps.
