How can we change a Time Frame without having to set up all the categories again?

It takes 5 minutes to set up a Spending report with the Accounts and Categories you want. Then, you want to get the same information over a different time frame. Click on the Date Range and all of your specific categories and accounts are gone. How do you prevent this?

I just set up an expense report for my "Housing" expenses and including a selection of 3 of my accounts. I left the Date Range set to the default "This Month" and ran the report. I then clicked on the date range field and selected "This year" clicked on the "Apply Dates" and the report showed Housing expenses for the newly selected date range. I tried out other preselected date ranges and a couple of custom date ranges. In all instances my selected categories didn't change.

Can you post some screen shots of what is happening?

Thanks for the reply. The preset dates work just fine. It seems I have to move categories around to get the numbers I'm looking for. Along with creating new master Categories for the reports.

I have Car Gas, and some others, that have ended up being a Subcategory in 2 Categories. Do you happen to know if I can delete Car Gas in one of Categories without effecting the other one?

Maybe one of the coaches might know.

    Thanks

You can delete categories easy enough: Settings > Categories & tags > [category/subcategory you want to delete] > 3 dot menu > Delete. When you delete a category, if there are any expenses attributed to that category you will be given the option to reassign those expenses to another category of your choice including making them uncategorized.

As far as I know deleting one will not affect the other.
