What languages other than English do you know?

I saw in another post that we have two Spanish speakers - @SRC54 and @RobWilk.

Spanish is my first language, and I sometimes help my children with their Spanish High School homework. My grammar in Spanish is questionable.

I am impressed because you write very well in English.

English is my first language, but "My grammar in English is questionable," which is similar to your situation. That's why I now pay for Grammarly (but don't always spend the time using it) when I write posts like this one.

Grammarly is showing the above text as "Green" (good); however, it does offer to rewrite it, which I'm trying to avoid. By the way, it inserted the semicolon in the previous sentence (and this one); I don't know when to use semicolons otherwise.

Thanks! I sometimes use Grammarly and I also have Microsoft editor via the browser.

Members, I beg your indulgence for my writing in Spanish on the forum. I just love the language so much. And now at the age of 70 I am still learning so much about it.

The built in tools in Apple and Mac are very good at correcting things such as spelling, agreement, accent marks, etc. And most of the time, you can look up words or even translate them. I can pretty much read Italian. I studied it some too. It is beautiful too but I had to give up studying it in order to concentrate on Spanish.

It is never too late to learn a language. I admire your love of Spanish.

Gracias. like Central American Spanish; it is rather clear and not quite so slangy. I studied in Spain and get smiles from my latino friends when I use the vosotros. Every region of Spanish is different and makes it hard, so I have a combination. Also I have a bad tendency to use tú with everyone partly because I am used to it with my hermanos cristianos and also because I am 70 and think of everyone as being young! I would get frowns if I did this in Spain. LOL

Thanks for starting this conversation. It will be interesting to see what languages others may speak/write. I am sure many of our Canadian friends on here will know French.
