An Update from Eric Dunn, Quicken CEO
Dear Quicken Simplifi User,
It’s time for my bi-annual update. I’m happy to report that we had a solid year, seeing record customer satisfaction and user growth. Thank you for trusting us to be an integral part of your financial life. We take this responsibility seriously and hope you see that come through in the products we deliver and the support we provide to our users.
To that end, we have been hard at work building software that solves real problems for our users, and today I’m happy to share that, in addition to continuing to add capability to Quicken Simplifi and Quicken Classic, we have just released two new products: Quicken LifeHub and Quicken Business & Personal.
Quicken LifeHub is a unique cloud-based product that allows you to store, organize, and share your family’s essential information. It has individual sharing permissions for multiple users and a designated process for allowing additional access when the need arises. While the product serves many purposes, it’s a great way for you to help ensure your family has access to what they need to take care of your estate over the long term.
Quicken Business & Personal, just released in limited early access, is the easiest way for small business owners and self-employed individuals to track their personal finances and their business finances, separately or side by side, all in one place. Designed for contractors, consultants, sole proprietors, and other similar business users, Quicken Business & Personal has all the personal finance functionality of Quicken Simplifi plus complete business finance functionality. Initial capabilities include expense tracking, invoicing and invoice payments, customer and project tracking, tax categories, and exceptionally flexible reporting.
We are thrilled to announce these new products and look forward to your feedback. As always, we will continue to listen to you and add the capabilities you need most.
Now for an update on our core personal financial management offerings.
Quicken Simplifi has become the top choice for new Quicken users as we’ve rounded out its capabilities, and it has matured into an easy-to-use but very complete app. This year we enhanced the investment functionality with capital gains tracking and charting. We made improvements to Spending Plan with features like “rollovers” and added the ability to see your credit score and credit history from within the app. We’ve also improved financial institution downloads with flexible transaction rules and Apple Wallet support, and we’ve added the ability to track the value of your real estate with Zillow. Simplifi is also now available on tablets. Lastly, we’ve released an account-to-account money transfer capability to early access. This is our first of many steps to help streamline your financial life and make it easy for you to take the actions you need from one central location.
Our Quicken Classic products are at the heart of our company, and we continue to improve and extend these products.
Quicken Classic for Windows added support for integrated online backup, enhanced reports customization, CSV import, and overdue (!) enhancements to reports’ print preview. We also improved startup speed and measurably increased reliability. Also new in Quicken for Windows is the initial deployment of our next-generation online billpay using the highly reliable MasterCard RPPS payment network. Although we currently support only a small number of credit card billers, over the next year we expect to completely supersede the “QuickPay” capability of Quicken Bill Manager with this technology.
Quicken Classic for Mac added support for integrated online backup and now offers a Security Detail View, account attachments, a securities watchlist, additional report customization, and loans to others. In addition, Premier users now have access to a capital gains estimator and real estate prices via Zillow. Users of Quicken Classic Business & Personal have an improved business dashboard and will soon have all-new invoicing and invoice tracking capabilities.
All our Quicken Classic users have access to our web and mobile Quicken Classic companion apps, which now support permissioned data sharing, letting you give a family member or trusted party access to your synced Quicken data on web or mobile using their own login and password.
We’ve had a busy year with all the work on our existing and new products. We are pleased to have moved past the “repair-the-potholes” phase of our early days of Quicken Inc. and are enjoying being able to take on additional challenges both in our new offerings and in our established Quicken products. We hope you enjoy these new products and features.
Thanks for being a member of the Quicken community!

Leaving this app has been the best decision for my budgeting needs, it's highly faulty and buggy systems are lacking, also where is MFA???Who can trust any app development without proper MFA???

If I’m already a quicken classic business and personal subscriber, what’s the difference between it and the version discussed in this update?
