Widgets on iOS and iPadOs don’t update / show wrong amounts

latest app versions, latest iOS and iPadOS on iPhone 15 and iPad Pro 2024. Available spending in-app shows correctly $2k on both devices; but the widgets show $6k+ for available spending. Tapping the widget opens Simplifi and takes me to the spending plan, which shows $2k. Widget hasn’t been updating for a few months now. Reinstalled multiple times, but bug persists.

    Hello @jorder,

    Thanks for reaching out! To better assist us, can you supply a screenshot showing the issue within Quicken Simplifi? Additionally, can you let us know if the web application shows the same issue for you?

    thanks Jon. The web app doesn’t offer widgets as far as I know, but it displays the correct ‘available spending’ amount, which is the same amount as in the iOS and iPadOS apps. The amount that is off is the number in the widgets (outside of the apps). See screenshots. The 2k are correct, the 6k are not.

    Hello @jorder,

    Thanks for the requested screenshots. If you remove the widget and then add it back after refreshing in the application, does it then reflect the correct amount? I would try removing the widget on both devices and re-adding it on just one to see if it works. If it does, see if adding the widget to the other device also shows the correct amount.

    I had already tried and just did again. Deleting and re-adding the widgets doesn’t fix the issue.

    Hello @jorder,

    Thank you for the reply. As I mentioned, can you confirm that you tried refreshing in the application beforehand to see if it reflects correctly in the widget?

    yes, it’s refreshed. I refresh several times a day… installed everything multiple times - it’s been like that for several weeks now. Thanks!

    Hello @jorder,

    Thanks for the confirmation. It seems this may be user-specific. The last thing we would have you try is to delete/clear the application and widget data completely on both devices. You will want to remove the widgets and navigate to your application storage in settings, and then delete the application data there. Afterward, open the Quicken Simplifi application and refresh your Spending Plan. Then re-add the widget to see if it now works correctly.

    Let us know!

    can you clarify “navigate to your application storage in settings”? This is on iOS and iPadOS - there’s no application data folder to access in settings beyond deleting the application itself. There’s no user accessible cache. I’ve deleted the apps (which automatically deletes the widget, but I’ve also deleted the widget first, followed by the app). I’ve cleared the safari cache/application data just to cover my bases in case the native apps store anything there (I don’t really use the web app anymore). I’ve restarted both devices, downloaded the app, opened the app, refreshed the app, then installed the widget, which still shows the wrong number.

    I’ve found the bug. Here’s what you can report back to the tech team: I use custom savings goals each month - i.e., each month I set a specific custom savings goal for that month. I managed to trigger a widget refresh by doing the following;

    1. Remove customs savings goals. This increases the available spending in the spending plan in the app as expected. It also increases the available spending in the widget by the freed up amount, which is still the wrong number but at least it is the wrong number + whatever was freed up by removing the custom savings goal.
    2. Create a new custom savings goal. This triggers a proper widget refresh, which now shows the correct available spending from the app’s spending plan.

    This works on both iPhone and iPad. It doesn’t seem to be user specific but linked to how the widget is being refreshed or not refreshed when a custom savings goal is used each month.v
