Unable to link to existing accounts with Wells Fargo

I opened a new savings account at Wells Fargo. I already have several other accounts at Wells Fargo that are connected to Simplifi. When I try to add the new account to Simplifi, I am unable to link all the existing accounts to the corresponding existing accounts. The "link to existing" dropdown menu is only showing a limited list of existing accounts to choose from, none of which are the Wells Fargo accounts. How can I fix this to add my new Wells Fargo account without adding all the existing accounts as new accounts? Thank you.

    Hello @ejs,

Thanks for reaching out! To clarify, your new Wells Fargo account is not showing up in the list of accounts to add to Quicken Simplifi correct? If that is the case, can you confirm if you are rerouted to a different website or URL when you select the missing account’s details on the bank's website? If so, please try searching for that alternative URL in Quicken Simplifi for the correct bank instance to use.

@Coach Jon - no, the new account is showing up in the list of accounts to add. The problem is that all of the old accounts are also showing up, and I don’t have the option of linking those to the existing accounts because the dropdown menu for linking to existing accounts is not including the right accounts (it’s only including accounts at other financial institutions). So for all the existing accounts, I can either add them as new accounts (which isn’t right, because it will then create duplicate accounts) or link them to the wrong existing accounts.

    Hello @ejs,

Thanks for the clarification. If the new accounts are showing up, and you do not want the older accounts within Quicken Simplifi, you should just be able to uncheck those accounts, which would ignore them and not add them to Quicken Simplifi. https://support.simplifi.quicken.com/en/articles/4295304-adding-accounts-in-quicken-simplifi

@Coach Jon, I do want the old accounts within Simplifi. But since they are already in Simplifi, don’t I have to link them to the existing accounts? If I uncheck them, won’t that have the effect of removing them from Simplifi altogether?

    Hello @ejs,

Thanks for the response. If they are already linked within Quicken Simplifi, you will not have to re-link them. If they are currently unlinked/manual, then yes you will want to re-link them.

    I hope this makes sense!

@Coach Jon, yes, they are already linked with Simplifi. So are you saying that I can uncheck those accounts when I add the new account? Ordinarily what I do in this situation is leave all the accounts checked, but I “link to existing” for the existing accounts. I don’t have that option in this case, because the right existing accounts are not showing up in the list of accounts to link to.

    Hello @ejs,

You should have something below the accounts that can be added to Quicken Simplifi that says "already linked accounts". If they are already linked, you should be fine to leave them unchecked and add the new ones into Quicken Simplifi. If you want to link all accounts at the same time anyways, you can make the existing accounts manual to ensure they show up in the linking window.

@Coach Jon, I'm not sure I'm following what you're saying. These are the steps I'm taking:

    1. I'm clicking the +add button to add an account in order to add my new Wells Fargo account to Simplifi.
    2. After I do that, I select "Wells Fargo" as the institution I'm trying to add an account from.
    3. That takes me to a separate page prompting me to enter my Wells Fargo log in credentials.
    4. Doing that takes me to a page displaying all of my Wells Fargo accounts (including the ones already connected to Quicken), all of which are checked and grayed out without giving me the option to uncheck anything. So I click "continue" to connect these accounts to Quicken.
    5. That causes a box to pop up within Simplifi which says "we found 8 accounts you can add to Simplifi." Seven of these represent accounts that are already linked, and one of them is the new account that I'm trying to link. For each of these, I'm given the option to "add as new (no link)" or the option to link to an existing account, but none of the correct accounts appear in the list for me to link to. I don't see anything that says "already linked accounts." Are you saying that I can uncheck the seven accounts and they will remain linked? Because it seems like unchecking them would have the effect of not having them connected anymore.

    Hello @ejs,

I am sorry for the confusion. I would suggest setting your already linked accounts to manual within Quicken Simplifi, and then going through the add account flow once more so that they show up as able to be linked like the new accounts. Does this make sense?

@Coach Jon, setting the existing accounts to manual worked to allow me to add the new account and link the existing accounts to the correct existing accounts. Thanks!
