"Clear all" should get rid of all notifications without further notices or actions (edited)

When I use "clear all" it's because I want to get rid of distractions. However it requests confirmation and then puts up another notice showing that all notifications have been cleared, which stays up for quite a while unless I close it! Could it please just make the notifications go away and stop there…? This would be a big improvement.
