Notification regarding Planned Spending match actual situation (edited)

Today I received a notification that I was approaching a Planned Spending limit. According to the time on it ("5 hours"), this came in about 11 am today. (I don't remember seeing it before that, but it's possible that it was there and that the time indication is faulty.)

But I am on a new month (March) and am nowhere near the limit. I already released the unused funds from this expense item last night. The actual state of the Planned Spending item looks like this.

Is this notification just coming in late from last month? Is it supposed to do that?

Makes no sense. I turned all that notification stuff off. I have little faith in AI stuff. I check my Spending Plan every day and tweak it as the month goes along.

    Hello @DryHeat,

That is a strange issue. Is this the first time this has happened, or does this regularly happen around the start of the month? Does this happen with any other notifications? Were you approaching the limit at the end of February?

I believe the default for that notification is 10%, but it can be edited to a higher or lower number (see this article for information on managing notifications: https://support.simplifi.quicken.com/en/articles/4720196-managing-notifications-in-quicken-simplifi ).

I suspect the notification is just coming in a bit late from the previous month. In my Quicken Simplifi, I notice that most notifications arrive shortly after I open the mobile or web app.

I look forward to your reply!

    Hi @Coach Kristina,

This is the first time I have received such notification. I was getting close to the plan spending limit for the end of last month, but did not receive any notices about it.

Like you, I suspect that this is simply a tardy notification from the previous month. I will keep an eye on it and see if it happens again.

@DryHeat I haven't had this happen, and I hope it is for you a one-time glitch. I turned off the notifications because I use some planned spending categories that are just once a month or so. For example, my Medicare Payment comes out of my social security and once I split that income even though it is recurring, Spending Plan insists the expense go somewhere. (We've discussed this elsewhere.)

So to avoid getting the notification that my health insurance expenses is nearing 0 (It actually is 0.00 and expected to be), I turn off the notifications. I keep a close eye on them anyhow.

But I understand that not all users would want to do what I do.

If you get this notification again, I would try changing the notification limit to another % to see if that works to fix it.
