Change the account connection error symbol back to a cloud icon (edited)

Hello,

As all Empower account holders now know, Simplifi's access to the Empower site is limited to between 1:00 AM and 5:00 AM PST. As a result, Simplifi users can expect to see an FDP-155 error during the blocking hours. No further action is needed from the user because this not a fixable or preventable error.

For the past several months, the orange "Account needs attention" triangle (formerly a red exclamation mark) for Empower accounts was replaced on the Simplifi dashboard page with a white cloud with a slash through it, indicating that Simplifi couldn't connect to the Empower account at that time.

This makes sense. This is the new normal for Empower accounts, so there is no fixable error and, therefore, no orange "Account needs attention" triangle should be shown on the Simplifi dashboard. Plus, if a new Empower issue occurs in the future, users won't know because they'll assume the orange triangle relates to not being able to download outside of Empower's approved hours.

However, after I last updated my Simplifi web app two days ago, the white cloud with a slash through it has been replaced with the orange triangle for my Empower account. Please go back to showing the white cloud with a slash through it for the reasons mentioned above.

Thanks!
Scott

    Hello @Duke0486,

Thanks for reaching out! Can you provide a screenshot showing the symbol you mentioned within Quicken Simplifi? Additionally, I am wondering if a fresh connection may solve this particular issue you are seeing. You can make the account manual and then use the Add Account flow to get a completely fresh connection. If the connection is successful, you'll then want to link the account to your existing Quicken Simplifi accounts. Let us know if that fixes the issue you are seeing here.

    Hello @Duke0486,

My apologies. After posting, I remembered recent release notes where this was mentioned as an updated change where the "account in error due to bank, not user" icon was changed to be a light yellow triangle.

I have converted this post into an idea post so that you and other users can vote for and follow this post for updates!

Hi @Coach Jon , thanks for the response!

Because the "white cloud with a slash through it" symbol was replaced with the orange "Account needs attention" triangle on my Simplifi dashboard, I can't take a screenshot of the white cloud symbol as it existed on my dashboard. However, I hunted around the Simplifi Community and found the attached screenshot, which partially shows the "white cloud with a slash through it" symbol on the far left side.

Please return to the previous practice of showing this white cloud symbol on the dashboard for Empower accounts.

I'm will to try a fresh connection, like you suggest, but given Empowers strange hours for connecting accounts, I'm not sure when that will occur.

    @Duke0486,

This post has been converted into an idea post for you and others to vote on if interested! No need to follow the previous steps I provided in this case since it was a change made specifically for Quicken Simplifi.

    Thanks,

Thanks for the additional info, @Coach Jon ! Yes, I think the "white cloud with slash" is a better fit than the yellow/orange triangle. If the account in error is due to the institution (not the user), indicating that no connection can be made to that account with the cloud is more fitting. The yellow/orange triangle grabs the user's eye, so it's more fitting when the user needs to take action.

Furthermore, when I let my cursor hover on the yellow/orange triangle, a message pops up that reads, "Account needs attention." (please see attached screenshot). This message is misleading if the account is in error is due to the institution (not the user) because no further action/attention is needed from the user because it's not a fixable or preventable error! So please change this pop-up message to something more fitting.
