Citibank Shop your Way Card Transaction Duplicates (edited)

Hi everyone,

It looks like Citibank made a change on their end and is now posting pending transactions on their website - something they hadn’t done before. I assume this has also affected the connectors.

As a result, all transactions are now duplicated in Quicken, and there is no indication of which ones are pending.

I was pleased to see a message from Coach Natalie titled "Upcoming Update for Citibank Retail Branded Credit Cards," where she mentioned that changes to the connector will be rolled out in the next two weeks. I assume these updates will address the issues I’m reporting here.

Overall, this seems to be a positive change from Citibank, and I’m glad to see Quicken responding so quickly.

@nrp06, thanks for posting to the Community!

To clarify, did you migrate your Citi retail card to the new OAuth connection method? Or are you still on the old connection method? The rollout you mentioned from the announcement is well underway, and you likely would have seen a lightning bolt next to the account on the Quicken Simplifi Web App.

    Hi Coach Natalie,

I'm still using the same old connector as a year ago. I see the lightning bolt next to the account, and transactions, as well as the balance, are still updating.

However, starting today, transactions are showing up duplicated. Also, for the first time, I’m seeing pending transactions on their website, which they never offered before.

    Coach Natalie,

Based on your reply, I went to Settings > Account to update the connector method. However, the new OAuth is not accepting my credentials.

I receive the error message: "We encountered a problem processing your request. Please try again later."

To confirm, I tested the same credentials on the credit card website, and they worked fine. But on Quicken OAuth, the login fails.

    @nrp06, thanks for the reply!

It looks like we have a known issue with the Citi Retail Card migration that just popped up. Here is an Alert you can follow for updates:

Once the Alert is marked as resolved, please get the account migrated and then keep an eye on things moving forward to see if the issue is still present with new transactions. If it's not, deleting the duplicates that did appear may be your best bet and fastest solution. At any rate, that's awesome you can now see pending! I've never heard of a bank that doesn't show pending transactions on their website.

Let us know how things go!

    Coach Natalie.

I tried again. The message now is "We are unable to connect to Shop Your Way Mastercard at this time. Please try again later. Care Code: FDP-105"

    What should I do next?

(oh, I just saw your update. Please disregard.)

So this is a little more concerning than I thought.
