Can Simplifi Generate a Report that EXCLUDES a Particular Tag

I would like to create a report that shows all transactions except transactions I've tagged with a particular tag. I generally include these tagged transactions in my spending plan and reports, but would like to see a report that includes everything but those transactions. Is there a way to do this is Simplifi?

Checking all other tags does not work because then the report is limited to transactions with those other tags and I want to include untagged transactions, too. There is probably an easy way to do this that I'm overlooking right now, so hopefully one of you can educate me.

    Hello @bcrossman,

Thanks for reaching out! Within the report itself, you can filter by specific column, including by Tags if you choose. If you hover over the Tags column, you should see a 3-dot menu to the right of it. If you select that menu, you should see a Filter option available. You can select 'does not contain' and then the value of what you want to exclude to show only the transactions without the mentioned tag.

    I hope this helps!

Thanks, @Coach Jon! I had never played around with those filters. It looks like those control the transaction activity that is listed, but does not affect the data in the report above (i.e., the chart, graphs, and raw numbers displayed). The report data appears to be controlled by the "Filter" button near the top of the page. Since I'm interested in manipulating the data in the report (not just the Transaction Activity log), my hope was I could exclude certain tags (or categories, or payees) from the report itself. Is that possible?

    Hello @bcrossman,

Ah, I see. Thank you for clarifying! The reports do not have that capability as of yet, but we do have an idea post that covers this topic that you may be interested in voting for and following here:

    I hope this information helps!

Thanks, @Coach Jon, I’ve added my support in the post you linked to. This idea post seems to get at the same idea I was going for, as well:

Given all of the customization available in the Report’s Transaction Activity (which I appreciate you showing me), I imagine it wouldn’t be too difficult to carry these same features over to the Report data itself. Hopefully we’ll see that deed soon.
