Templates for Transactions

This feature will help those that do manual editing quickly add a transaction that occurs sometimes. This is different than recurring transactions in that it can be used at any time to quickly add and populate a transaction in the transaction window. The user will select from a drop down a list of already created transactions created in a template and select a transaction. Once selected it will populate all the fields in the transactions window. This will allow quick and fast manual adding of new transactions.

I'll support this idea. It sounds like this is a Simplifi-ing idea.

Sounds good to me too though I really want the ability to enter a recurring transaction as well. Both are needed for the many (and increasing) manual accounts.

I like the concept here. You’re basically wanting to duplicate a prior transaction. The word template here seems a little unintuitive, but I’m on board for copying transactions! My prior, very basic, solution before Simplifi had the option to copy/duplicate or “copy to today”. I used both options all the time to save entry time. I could copy to today, change the amount, and be done in most cases. I miss those shortcuts!

I like your suggestion better than templates. My old program also allowed me to duplicate a past transaction. Doing so would pop up an editing form with the blanks filled in — ready for me to modify.

Of the two methods you mentioned, I would prefer the "Copy to Today" system. That way the transaction doesn't get accidently buried back next to the old one in the list. It seems that every time I used the "copy" function, I needed to change the date to the current day or one in the very recent past.
