Choose Whether a Savings Goal Contribution Applies to the Spending Plan

Desired Feature: I would like an "exclude from spending plan" option when making a Savings Goal contribution.

Situation/Example: I have money in multiple accounts that have been earmarked for savings goals that I managed with a spreadsheet. I am trying to merge accounts and transition savings goals from my spreadsheet to Simplifi.

Problem: When I make a contribution to my savings goal from money that I have already saved, those contributions counted towards my current month. It increased the overall spend the month, which reduced the Income after bills & saving amount. I am now having to manually balance the month and will just have to accept that it will look wonky.

    Hello @Ottson26,

Thanks for reaching out! I converted your idea post into a discussion, as users already have the ability to exclude a Savings Goal from their Spending Plan within Quicken Simplifi. When creating/editing a Savings Goal, you can choose to ignore the planned contribution in the Spending Plan.

Additionally, you may also exclude a Savings Goal from the Spending Plan by navigating to your Savings Goal tab in the Spending Plan and selecting the 3-dot menu on the right side for that goal and selecting Exclude from Spending Plan.

If you are just looking to ignore specific contributions themselves, then I would suggest voting for this idea post as well, which covers the same topic!

    I hope this information helps!
