I have two income series set up, one for me and one for my wife. We're both paid weekly on Fridays. My paycheck is consistent, as I'm on a salary. My wife works hourly. I've set her recurring series to reflect the average amount she typically makes. Some weeks it's higher, others lower.
For some reason, and this seems to be random, when we get paid, our income series will occasionally glitch and suddenly skip a week. For instance, when I logged in today (Saturday, April 12, 2025), Quicken showed our paychecks from yesterday. It should've then showed two more remaining as future transactions for the month, Friday the 18th and Friday the 25th. However, it skipped the 18th entirely and showed only the 25th as remaining. This obviously throws our whole spending plan off, as Quicken suddenly shows our income for the month as less than it should be. The only way to resolve the issue is to completely delete both series and recreate them. Editing them does not fix the problem.
It happens more frequently then it should, but not enough that I can pin-point what may be causing it. My only thought is that it may be because my wife's paycheck isn't always close to the average. For instance, the Friday before last her check was about $40 above average, and yesterday it was about $5 over. Maybe two checks in a row like that is throwing things off? But both of our income series glitch, not just hers.
Anyway, this is a pretty frustrating issue to deal with. Let me know if there's any further information I can provide that might help track down the cause.
