Business Categories vs. Personal Categories

I stumbled across this the other day and found it useful, others may too. When entering receipts on mobile, I've experienced a bit of confusion about which Categories belong to business vs. personal. It's not always immediately obvious which one to use and I've found myself second guessing the category displayed in the account register and then takin extra time to double-check. Yes, if I pay close attention, I can see the grey header bars…

But I can't see these at a glance in the account register…

To reduce confusion, I've started adding an emoji to the beginning of each Business Category…

This makes it super obvious when viewing the account register…

@Flopbot This is a great idea! And here's another use for it besides business categories.

I have a cabin in Canada where I pay pretty much the same expenses as I do for our home — utilities, insurance, etc. I made these subcategories of a "Cabin" main category, but that doesn't show up in the transaction register. I prepended an emoji (🍁) to each of those Cabin categories and now it is easy to pick them out in the listing.

I also have a couple of other "separate but similar" sets of categories that I am doing this with. It really helps.

    Thanks for the tip.

Fun usage of the 🍁emoji there! Guess someone could also do a separate emojis for their boat🛟, their trip to Ireland🍀, etc.

Rich Text Editor. To edit a paragraph's style, hit tab to get to the paragraph menu. From there you will be able to pick one style. Nothing defaults to paragraph. An inline formatting menu will show up when you select text. Hit tab to get into that menu. Some elements, such as rich link embeds, images, loading indicators, and error messages may get inserted into the editor. You may navigate to these using the arrow keys inside of the editor and delete them with the delete or backspace key.
