Lost Connectivity to one of my Schwab accounts

Since the late 2024 update, I was able to connect to all my Schwab accounts (brokerage, equity, banking) without any issue. However, starting last month (March 2025), I lost the connection to my equity account again. I followed the steps to (re)establish a new token/connection but Simplifi is still unable to relink the equity account (though it was able to relink the brokerage and banking accounts). I have tried this with the WebApp, Chrome, Incognito mode Chrome and all have the same result, unable to relink the equity account.
Anyone else experiencing this issue?
[removed] do you have any suggestions on troubleshooting and resolving this issue?

A little more context. 3 total accounts in Schwab, 2 of them are linked and 1 remains in manual. If I try to the "link financial institutions", it will fail to find/link the equity account.

Hello @SLiang,
Thanks for the reply. Let's try a fresh connection here. You can make the accounts manual and then use the Add Account flow to get a completely fresh connection. If the connection is successful, you'll then want to link the accounts to your existing Quicken Simplifi accounts. Let us know how that goes!
Thanks,

Hi @Coach Jon,
I have tried the fresh connection method multiple times (Chrome, Chrome in Incognito mode and the Simplifi WebApp) over the last 4 weeks. They all ended with the same results - 2 out 3 accounts are linked but the 3rd (equity account) remained as manual. If something has changed/was updated on the Schwab or Simplifi end, I am happy to try it again.
Thanks,
Spencer

Hello @SLiang,
Thanks for letting us know. I would still try again, as having a fresh connection with all the accounts under the financial institution usually works best when resolving these issues. I do know that Charles Schwab accounts must now meet certain criteria to be available for download:
- You must be the owner of the account.
- View-only users will not show up.
- Example: Your spouse has an account that they granted you access to view. You will see this account on the Charles Schwab website, but you will not be able to download it. This is because you can only download accounts you have legal ownership of.
- Donor-advised accounts will not be included for download.
- 529 accounts are enabled for download.
- Credit cards are not supported; you will need to set up the account for download via American Express.
- Brokerage, IRA, 401(k), Line of Credit, and Loans are supported.
- Employee Benefit Accounts (RSU, Employee Stock Options) are not supported.

Hi @Coach Jon,
I just tried again and same results. 2 out of 3 accounts have their link re-established but the 3rd one (employee stock/equity) account remained as manual, which I assumed means Schwab did not return that account or Simplifi wasn't able to identify it.
You mentioned above that Employee Benefit Accounts are not supported. Can you please elaborate on when has that changed? It was supported/fixed during the November 2024 update and you can find multiple posts within this community forum on that issue.
Thanks, Spencer

Hello @SLiang,
Thanks for the reply. If the account you are trying to connect is an Employee Benefit Account of some sort, then I am afraid it is indeed not supported at this time. Since we use the bank's OAuth connection type, they determine the supported account types from their side.

Hi @Coach Jon,
Please take a look at this thread (https://community.simplifimoney.com/discussion/9930/schwab-equity-award-accounts-are-no-longer-being-imported) and it was eventually resolved. The issue clearly came back (at least for me) last month and I would like request Simplifi to open a ticket with Schwab to see what has changed.
To recap, during a fresh connection flow, Schwab clearly showed it has identify three accounts. Then between the hand off to Simplifi, either the 3rd account was dropped from the payload (by Schwab) or Simplifi wasn't able associate it with the manual account (something on Simplifi's end).
Thanks,

Hi @Coach Jon,
While I understand this is considered an open issue but as you can see from the end of this thread (https://community.simplifimoney.com/discussion/9930/schwab-equity-award-accounts-are-no-longer-being-imported), it was resolved in October 2024 (two months after it was initially reported). I can certainly confirmed it worked from me from October 2024 to March 2025.
What can I do to help escalate this bug to get a resolution? Waiting 9 months for a fairly straightforward issue to be fixed in a paid product is egregious.
Thanks, Spencer

Hello @SLiang,
There is no need to escalate the issue, as it has already been escalated to our product team and they are currently working on a resolution at this time.
I can understand the frustration you have, however sometimes these issues can take some time to resolve. We will be sure to update the alert I shared prior when we do have any status updates. Thank you for your patience.

I cancelled the subscription and I will consider renewing it only if the issue is resolved.

I've also been having this issue for a few weeks now and it's still broken. This issue is likely a problem on the Schwab side, but if you contact Schwab, they will just say that equity accounts are not supported and seem to be surprised that this ever worked in the first place. Meanwhile, when you try to do the OAuth integration flow, you see the Euquity Awards account appear on the list, but it seems like something happens where it doesn't actually show up on the next page when you need to select what to do with the account (add as new or link to existing).
I think the only way this will get resolved is if someone from Quicken somehow directly engages with Schawb to figure out what broke and get them to acknowledge that this was working before and now no longer works so they should be able to do something to get it working again. I wasted a lot of time on the phone with Schwab and got nowhere because they just say this should never have worked even though it has worked for me for years.
