Coinbase is still broken - FDP-390 error (edited)

Got an email notification regarding the thread
Coach Natalie commented on [RESOLVED] 7/17/24: Coinbase returns an FDP-103, No Longer Offers Legacy API KeysSo I tried to connect to coinbase - it failed.
Deleted the account and tried to re-add. It still failed.
Bad support here - sent out an email saying the feature is fixed with no instructions, no details, and it appears to still be broken.

An update was posted today that the Coinbase issue was resolved. That is not the case. I followed all the steps and the accounts still do not sync.

Hey everyone, thanks for letting us know about this issue!
As far as we are aware, the OAuth API connection with Coinbase should be live and working. With that, if you have an existing Coinbase account in Quicken Simplifi, please follow these steps to establish a completely fresh connection with the bank:
- Make your Coinbase accounts manual by following the steps here.
- Once you see the account(s) listed in the Manual Accounts section under Settings > Accounts, go back through the Add Account flow to reconnect to the bank, and select the bank option listed as "Coinbase".
- Complete the OAuth flow by signing in and authorizing your accounts.
- If the connection is successful, carefully link the account(s) found to your existing Quicken Simplifi account(s) by following the steps here.
I also noticed that there is a "ZZ" bank option for Coinbase in Quicken Simplifi. The "ZZ" instances usually indicate a disabled or old connection option for that bank, but it looks like it also goes through OAuth. I would recommend also giving it a try just in case.
If the issue persists after following these steps, please provide more details, such as:
- Is the issue occurring on the Quicken Simplifi Web App, the Mobile App, or both?
- Does the separate window for OAuth open?
- Are you able to sign in and authorize your accounts in the OAuth window?
- Which sign-in option are you using when doing so?
- If the connection is successful, are you redirected back to Quicken Simplifi to add or link the account?
- At what point does the FDP-390 error occur?
We look forward to hearing back from you all!

It worked for me using the "ZZ BC NIOC ESAB" listed one.
Looks a little sketchy, but working. 🤷♂️

Ditto - main one still fails but the ZZ account seems sketchy but working. [removed - disruptive/off-topic]

Yeah, the weird ZZ one works but not the actual one.

I also was able to connect using the "ZZ" option, but not with the main Coinbase option. Are we to classify this account as a Brokerage or as Other Investment? There is not an option for Cryptocurrency that I see.

Thank you all for helping us identify a workaround!
We are researching the FDP-390 error with the regular Coinbase bank option, and have created an Alert that everyone can follow for updates:

With the ZZ option, are people's account balances and holding balances showing correctly? My Coinbase balance in Simplifi is showing up as about 1/2 of what it should be, and the individual holdings are a mess. The names and prices for most holdings are not referencing the correct crypto assets.

Yeah, I'm seeing the same weirdness. Stuff that is not in my crypto wallet showing on Simplify, and some that I do hold, the "symbols" are matching to the wrong assets, etc.
Example:
CB:
Simplifi:
Though, I would gladly take the latter balance! 🤑
Additionally, now it (the ZZ one) is erroring out with a new error:
(Care code: 324)
Hopefully they'll get it fixed properly soon.

I am trying to follow along but this is not working. The original error is resolved, but I am not seeing the correct data. I marked each coinbase coin as manual.
When I attempt to link the coin using the Coinbase institution, Simplifi shows my entire account balance to the one coin and once added, I see that the connection failed with Care code 324 and the coin has no balance in Simplifi.
When I attempt to link the coin using the "ZZ BC NIOC ESAB" institution, Simplify allows me to add two coins but no more. Simplifi then shows incorrect balances for each of the two added coins. The balance on one of the two coins represents my entire coinbase balance, not the one coin.
Where the original connection error has indeed been resolved, we seem to be left with a host of other issues.

It seems that Simplifi is using the wrong information for the ticker. If the Crypto Coin uses an abbreviation that is NOT a Stock Ticker (ex: 1INCH), my download seems to be relatively correct. However, it the Crypto Coin uses an abbreviation that matches a Stock Ticker (ex: ABT), then Simplifi labels it as the Stock Symbol (Abbott Laboratories) instead of the Crypto Coin (Arcblock).
I added my Coinbase holdings as an "other investment" hoping this wouldn't happen, but no such luck 🤨

Hey again, everyone! Thanks for the latest update regarding the incorrect data with the "ZZ" option.
It sounds like our engineering team has implemented a fix for the regular "Coinbase" bank option so users no longer receive the FDP-390 error. Can you all try making your account manual and then re-linking to that option, please?
- Make your Coinbase account manual by following the steps here.
- Once you see the account listed in the Manual Accounts section under Settings > Accounts, go back through the Add Account flow to reconnect to the bank, and select the bank option listed as "Coinbase".
- Complete the OAuth flow by signing in and authorizing your accounts.
- If the connection is successful, carefully link the account found to your existing Quicken Simplifi account by following the steps here.
Let us know how it goes, please!

the regular Coinbase was able to be added. The portfolio value in the list of accounts is correct, but the holdings within the account are wrong. It generates holding estimates not related to my actual holdings.

@whyme, glad to hear the regular option worked for you!
Can you create a new thread to outline the holdings issue so we can take a closer look, please?
