The end of Spring is here! Plans for Summer?

It feels like 2025 is blazing by so far this year, and with that, it is nearly the end of Spring already as we jump into May.
I do not celebrate anything in particular in May, but I know that a few of my friends celebrate Cinco de Mayo. I celebrate the upcoming Summer season myself, and work to plan what I'll be doing in the Summer!
What about you? Do you also plan for any Summer trips, or is Summer just another season for you?

Well, for me summer is just another season except very hot and humid in Alabama. At least tornado season ends before we get hurricane season in August-September.
I have to be careful with the heat and humidity so maintaining my tennis game is tricky. I drink lots of water with potassium and magnesium, try to play in the morning (although it is more humid in the morning generally).
As for cinco de mayo, this is more an American holiday that is not celebrated much in Mexico. It isn't Mexican Independence Day but refers to a minor battle where the Mexicans stopped the French momentarily from installing Emperor Maximilian (Battle of Puebla).
However, for those who like Mexican food, it is a good excuse to eat, drink and be merry. 😀

Hopefully find a cheap, reliable car (they don’t exist) that carries six. So far, we’re finding reliable used vans going for more than new ones! We had saved up money, but not THAT much money. Otherwise, this might be a summer to stay home.

About a year ago, family went to a dealer seeking a second Chrysler Pacifica. The new ones seemed too expensive, but the dealer said they had a 2020 model (same year as we had) but the used price was HIGHER than we paid for the other one NEW about 4 years earlier. Eventually they bought a 2025 model, but we pretty much waited until another minivan basically died to decide we didn't really have a choice. On a bright note, the new one has a sun roof and some other cool features the 2020 didn't have.
I hate that thanks to California, most new cars have an "A (automatic) on/off" function that constantly restarts the car, you need to press a button to turn that off every time you start the car, royal pain. Whoever's idea that was didn't seem to realize that when the car is idling it's charging the battery, so that things like air conditioning can continue running.

I plan to stay home for the summer. My daughter will have spinal surgery to treat scoliosis so she cannot go places. Will be quiet for us.

Same thing we do every summer…. About ten days at Disney World.. We drive, we can make it in one day, but we usually stop half way. It's not my ideal destination (I'm not sure i have one) but it's a regular "alternate reality" we do about 3 times a year, in summer we do it with the larger family though.

We have a couple of trips on the books - heading to Santa Cruz mountains for a few days and one of those will be spent going to a SF Giants game in SF. We will be heading up to Bellingham, WA for a two-week Habitat for Humanity project in August. Probably make a couple of mid-week trips to the coast and a few day trips into the Sierras… and lots of afternoons around the pool 🏖️🏔️⚾️🔨

As per the question, I don't plan for summer Trips, but other family members do plan them, and I wind up going along. I would "like" to say that the trips don't cost me anytihng (hotel, travel) but unfortunately for at least a portion of one trip this summer we're buying a dining package, which is going to cost me "around $100/day" for myself. That may not sound like much, but consider my monthly income is under $3000.
