How to resolve multiple duplicate investment transactions
I have numerous duplicate transactions showing under investments. I just contacted tech-support who told me it is because I do not logout after 6 hours! I am a software architect who has designed myriad applications. I asked her if this was documented and she said no. She connected to my machine and reviewed my Windows event log and told me I have 10,685 errors. I asked if there was a fix and she said there was but it would take three hours and I would have to pay for it. Wait a second! I told her I already pay for this subscription and she said I should contact Quicken. I thought I was dealing with Quicken!
Is this a know issues? She said once the erroes reached 11,000 I would have permanent daya loss. Before I cancel subscription, will someone respond?
Best,

@stanlick, thanks for reaching out to the Community!
To clarify, are you referring to Investment Transactions in the Investments > Transactions section of Quicken Simplifi? If so, is the issue happening on a certain account? Is the account connected to the bank, or do you manually input transactions? If the former, what bank is it? If the account is connected, are there certain actions that are duplicated, such as just Buys or just Sells, etc.?
As for contacting support, it doesn't sound like you contacted Quicken Simplifi Support, as we don't charge subscribers for assistance. I'm not sure what the permanent data loss bit is about, but that is also not something from Quicken Simplifi. Since this person connected to your computer, I would recommend getting some form of fraud protection.
Here is how you can access the Quicken Simplifi Support Team:

First, others have reported duplicate investment transactions. See here:
Second, are you sure you were in touch with Quicken tech support and not some other entity? Did they actually take remote control of your computer?
I don't want to cry wolf — and I understand that you are a software architect — but I am asking because there is a scam where "tech-support" folks have you pull up the event log, gasp at the number of entries, and tell you that you are in grave danger unless you pay them to fix it.
In reality, pretty much everyone's event log will contain lots of errors, warnings, and other entries (even tens of thousands of them), particularly if that particular event log maximum size is pretty large and the computer has been in service for a while.

What is the tech support number at Quicken? I have read about the various duplicate entries on this forum and mine do not align specifically with these others

@stanlick "What is the tech support number at Quicken?"
There is no number to call. The link @Coach Natalie posted above explains how to initiate a phone call with tech support. You input your number and they call you back.
BTW, it sounds like Coach Natalie also suspects that you were previously in touch with someone other than Quicken support. If you gave whoever it was enough control over your machine that they could check the event logs, you should probably be concerned about what else they may have done while they were in there.

@DryHeat Thanks for the feedback. I was on with the girl the entire time and all she did was start the event log and attempt to charge me to fix the errors/duplicate transactions. After declining, I killed her session and uninstalled the TeamViewerQS.exe she had me download from www.quickconnect.support. The Quicken Tech Support number (allegedly) was found on Google to be [removed fake support number].
I'll follow your advice and use this @Coach Natalie for this resolution
