Quicken 2009 Deluxe Upgrade

I am still using the Quicken 2009 Deluxe edition with no online backup. I would like to go to something web/app based, backup stored in the cloud, and be able to import in all my history of the last 16 years. Would Quicken Simplifi be the best choice?

Hello @dbeck18787,
Thank you for reaching out with this question. The list of features you're looking for sounds like a mix of what Quicken Classic offers and what Quicken Simplifi offers, so which is better depends on what features you want the most. To break it down by the features you mentioned:
Web/app based -
- Quicken Simplifi is cloud based; there is no physical file on your computer.
- Quicken Classic is stored directly on your computer. It does have companion apps that give some limited web/mobile functionality.
Online backups -
- Quicken Simplifi does not offer any backups.
- Quicken Classic allows you to make backups of your data file. If you already use a cloud service, you can save your backup files to that service. Online backup is Quicken's cloud backup service, and is available for an additional $1.99 per month (billed annually). For more information on Online backup, please see this FAQ:
Ability to import 16 years of history -
- Quicken Simplifi does allow you to import data, however, there is no direct conversion between Quicken Classic and Quicken Simplifi. You can manually import into Quicken Simplifi using a properly formatted CSV file. For information, see this article:
- Quicken Classic is generally able to convert older Quicken Classic file formats to newer ones.
I hope this provides you with enough information to decide which product would work best for you! If you want more information about options with Quicken Classic, I would also recommend that you post your inquiry to the Quicken Classic Community. Here's the link:
I hope this helps!
