My credit union changed their system a year or so ago and I lost my ability to download my transactions. When I inquired they said they were aware and reached out to Intuit with no response. I gathered by the conversation that they did not intend to spend a lot of time working on it because they only had about 100 members using Quicken, which I find hard to believe. My questions are, one, will Simplifi give me the ability to download transaction again and two, will my Quicken files import into Simplifi?

Hi. I can answer your last question first. Nope, your Quicken files will not export directly to Simplifi. You can import CSV files, but that is cumbersome to say the least.

As for your credit union downloading into Simplifi, the only way to know for sure is to try Simplifi. Most likely, your best bet is to wait for your Credit Union to fix the download into Quicken Classic, especially if you are happy with Quicken Classic. For the most part, Simplifi uses the same connection as Quicken (but it varies).

If your Credit Union refuses to fix the connection, there are a lot of fish in the sea, and I would switch to a bank that cares more about its customers. It seems daunting at first but I've done it many times, and have never regretted leaving a bank behind.

By the way, Quicken still uses some Intuit technology especially in bank downloads but Quicken is no longer owned by Intuit.

    Good luck.
