Cannot split an income into different categories

I would like to be able to split a positive transaction into different categories, but when doing so, the total value of the transaction increases with each split instead of decreases. For example, if I had +$100 transaction and want to split it into $40 and $60 transactions each with a different category. When I add a split and type in $60, the net total goes up to $160 instead of $40, and doesn't allow you to save this due to not summing to 0.

    @Jake B

    When you split a +100.00 transaction it should automatically create the first two splits with amounts of $0.00 each. The first one will have the category that the original transaction had, and the second one will not have a category. The transaction "Amount" and the "Left to Split" values should both read "+100.00."

    If that is not what you are seeing, then something is wrong.

    If that is what you are seeing, then type +$40 into the first split Amount and +$60 into the second split Amount. At that point the transaction "Amount" should read +$100 and the "Left to Split" should read "0.00."

    Here is an actual example of what I am referring to. I would like to split this transaction into two, but the split function adds the two together instead of subtracting them.

    Did you try putting a plus sign before the number that you type in? That should help I think.

    Setting the value to + worked! I didn't notice that option before, thank you!

    It's very well hidden! I only know about it because I've had the same issue in the past. Glad it's working for you now!!
