The "This Year" Date Range option should include the full calendar year, not YTD (edited)

Recommend: The date as it works now is misleading. The option “This year” is only from the beginning of the current calendar year to the current date. However, the full calendar is able to be displayed to next month, but it is grayed. By limiting it to the current date, this results in no future months’ Spending, Income, Income & Expense, and Refund Tracker are only to the current date. If there are entered transactions that are beyond the current date, these are not shown. The only way for the user to find future transactions is to use the Spend Plan and the bills and income to find future transactions. As with any budgeting, the budgeting should be to the end of the current month, the current quarter, next month, next quarter, next quarter, next quarter, next six months, and next 12 months. This change in the program would allow budgeting and reporting to be inclusive not exclusive for future transactions.

Watchlists include future expenses which is nice as you can see your total estimated expenses to the end of the month if you have set up Bills and Subscriptions. I use Watchlists more for tracking my budget than reports.

I'm guessing the "reports" are limited actual transactions to reflect accuracy as sometimes, the future transactions from bills change in dollar amounts. So Reports for me, are what I have actually spent in the past.

I don't want reports to include future predicted transactions that have not yet occurred. If the requested change is made, they should also provide some way to restrict results to actual transactions.

Interestingly, the report date picker in QS calls the range "This Year" but QBP calls it "Year to date." Having both available — with "This Year" including future transactions — might satisfy @Dick_Davis's need.

    Here's QBP's date picker:

I agree with the "year to date" and the "This year" as recommended. This makes sense and the user will be able to understand in a clear, concise manner.

I do also feel that that the "this year" will provide the user with the ability to look forward to where transactions have been entered and they can be easily found on many of the screens. Also, with the reports, Income and Expense, the user can see what is coming and what they need to have funds for to pay.
