Please provide the ability to import Quicken classic data into Simplifi.
I am very interested in switching to Quicken Simplifi, but I have years of data in Quicken Classic for Mac, so I won't consider switching over to the new web-based model until it's possibly to cleanly and easily import my data from Quicken Classic.
As I've mentioned before, it would be great if Simplifi could import QXF files. I don't even need that. What I need is to be able to view my old Quicken files in the rare instances when I need to go back to find a transaction from 10-25 years ago. To be able to do that I have to maintain a Quicken installation on a Mac or PC. Even though I have a Mac now, I really don't need it.
A Quicken viewer that allows one to read the old Quicken files would be good. Even when I use my Quicken installation to do that, I have to wait until Quicken updates the database and THEN it insists on trying to update and download new transactions, and it apparently uses the credentials from your current database. I don't want those in the old file (why would I), so to forestall that, I have to put the files on my desktop (from the cloud), then turn off the Internet, then open the file to search transactions. It's a big pain.
I probably could find some way to export all my transactions to some sort of spreadsheet when I decide to give up Quicken. Then I could read it anytime. I've been too lazy or too stubborn to do it. So far!
This import function has been requested many times, and I don't think we are going to get it. Lack of demand, expense, not in Quicken's business interest, etc. But hope springs eternal.
This boggles my mind, too. This has been a request for THREE YEARS on this thread. How hard can this be?
I have years of categorized transactions that need to be transferred. It would be prohibitive to do this manually.
Is there ANY work-around for this? Can I export to Mint first, then over to Simplifi?
As a treasurer of a small church, I have a GREAT AND IMMEDIATE NEED to migrate (transactions with categories) from a desktop version (resident on a private computer) to an online version so we can have more than one person access/update the data and create reports without sitting at my desk. Quicken Simplifi seems like it would be a good answer. However, it cannot handle transfer of categories.

When will this be fixed?
My renewal is in 3 days. Please help now! I don't want to pay another $98 just for the next month while we figure this out. I need to migrate soon as I will be leaving the treasurer position and someone else needs to take over.
This is not hard. Please do it.
I regret very much purchasing Simplifi. Clearly I did not do my homework but I never imagined Quicken would create a new product you could not import your existing Quicken data to. What a disappointment!
i'm upgading decktop to window 11. how do I transfer my quicken account to new?
I've been using Q since the early 1990s - MS-DOS! - so have decades of stored data. I'm interested in transferring to Q B & P, but won't do that without the ability to import data from a Q file.
Look, a cloud-based option is, exactly as @Shermani says, clearly your path to the future. I would love to transition from Quicken Classic Business and Personal (with all my data) to Quicken Business and Personal, assuming it contains feature parity (which it appears to do). Please make the common sense solution to import data…it really can't be that hard. Thanks!
It's perplexing to me how Simplifi has gone out of its way to import from other competing online tools, but, frankly, treats its existing Quicken Classic customers like the redheaded stepchild without any easy import tools (yes, I'm aware I can import information via CSV, which I've done partially but is insanely clunky and time consuming). It's shameful this post has been here for 4 years and there still doesn't appear to be a solution here. Shame on Quicken for this.
Then again, I'm used to being ignored by Quicken after using Classic for years - a tool to which they regularly made pointless updates while the underlying platform was garbage. I'm glad Simlifi exists, I just wish Quicken treated its customers better.
I too was disappointed that Simplifi would not import my Quicken data (which goes back to 1989).
Once I gave up on the idea that Simplifi would ever import my QDF file, I decided to export everything from Quicken and keep it in an Excel file instead. I used the Excel tools to give each transaction (row) a unique number signifying the order in which the rows were exported, then locked that dataset down as my permanent record.
Since then I have extracted various subsets to new sheets in Excel for different purposes, like to separate the different accounts, or to isolate certain expenses. But mainly I use the data as a sort of financial diary to answer questions about past events. It's actually easier for me to search and manipulate the data in Excel than it was in Quicken.
If Simplifi ever creates a robust CSV import system I should be able to extract what I need from the Excel file for import purposes. But I'm not sure Simplifi's system would be able to remain responsive with that much data. So I'm probably tied to Excel for all time.
