Account & Category Naming – One Approach
I wanted to share the account names that I have devised and use. With my accounts, I use the short account name and then the last four numbers of the account. Example would be Capital One 360 Performance Check *[removed - privacy]” and have the account as “Capital One [removed - privacy] 360 Performance Checking.” Using this approach, I can just key the four numbers and then the account is displayed.
Also, I standardize my categories as much as I can. When I am transferring funds from one account to another account, I use the Payee as “Checking [removed - privacy].” Using this type of labeling makes the search and listing of the Payees together and is more clear than having various types of category entries.
Just sharing my methods and how I am making Simplifi a “trusted partner with my finances.”

That's a good naming system. I will note I add some other info to my account names like (for credit cards) APR and Credit Limit so I can see that info in the account list. I sometimes also put numbers in front of the account name to affect the order accounts are sorted by.

@RobWilk, Thank you for tthe complement. Also, before I settiled on this schema of naming, I tried the numbers in front, like internal accounting numbers. I found that to be more concentrative when adding new accounts. I lean towards "easy," than so constrive.
