Principal - Impact 401K Not Working

My Principal Impact 401K stopped working recently, so this weekend I disconnected it and attempted to reconnect, I am getting this error -

"This financial institution is not available right now!"

However I can login just fine to the Principal site and look at my account. Did the URL change, and who should be notified that it is not working?

Thanks 😀

    Hello @aparys,

Thanks for reaching out! To better assist you, can you please take a screenshot of the error you are receiving within Quicken Simplifi? This will help us determine the next steps and the best solution for this issue.

  • I'm having the identical issue and haven't been able to resolve. Issue first appeared on September 3. Any assistance would be helpful

    Hello @KoziHare and @aparys,

I would see if you're both able to connect using the Principal Financial Group instance available within Quicken Simplifi.

Let us know how this goes, please!

  • If we remove the existing account and readd as that new entry do we lose all our account history?

  • I am also experiencing this issue. Any update on a resolution?

    Hello @aparys,

Thanks for the reply! As long as you are not deleting your existing account within Quicken Simplifi, you should be able to connect to the new instance without losing any data. You can establish a fresh connection by making the account manual and re-linking to the Principal Financial Group instance I shared above. The instructions to do that are:

    • Make all of the accounts with the bank manual by following the steps here.
    • Once you see the account(s) listed in the Manual Accounts section under Settings > Accounts, go back through the Add Account flow to reconnect to the bank.
    • If the connection is successful, carefully link the account(s) found to your existing Quicken Simplifi account(s) by following the steps here.

@lsanchis, Thanks for reaching out! I would also have you try connecting to the Principal Financial Group instance I provided previously in this thread. Let us know how this goes!

  • That worked, it will now connect and I was able to link to my existing account.

    Thanks 😀
