To evaluate my annual expenses, can I import data from Jan 2025 to present?

You can import transactions, but you cannot import Categories for those transactions. The only values that can be imported are Date, Payee, Amount, and Tags.

There is a workaround that involves putting the Category into the Tags fields in the import file, then importing the transactions, then using the bulk edit capability to categorize the transactions to match the imported tags. A good description of it can be found here:
