Issue Importing CSV into Checking Account
Hello Simplifi Support,
I created a Simplifi-ready CSV file with the columns Date, Payee, and Amount. I then attempted to import it into one of our checking accounts (Chk 1 – Chase Gotay Assoc 3687). The system accepted the file upload and showed a “Success” message that transactions were imported. However, no transactions actually appear in the account after the import.
Could you please advise why the transactions are not showing, and whether the CSV requires additional columns such as Account, Category, or Memo for the import to work properly?
Thank you for your assistance.
Best regards,
Gotay

Hello @Gotay,
Thanks for reaching out. We recommend downloading and using our CSV template to avoid any issues with importing. We also have a support article that lists how to prepare and format your CSV file before importing:

If the transactions don't show up after closing and then restarting Simplifi, I suggest you try the following to help figure out what the problem is:
- Create a CSV file using the template @Coach Jon mentioned, but with just one transaction in it.
- Import that file into one of your accounts.
- See if that one transaction shows up.
If it works you can move on to looking at your real CSV file to see if it is correctly formatted. If it doesn't work you will have a much clearer record of the problem to give to the support folks here.
