Workaround – Attaching Notes and Documents to Accounts (edited)
At present there is no way of adding notes and attaching documents to the Accounts in Simplifi. However, there is a workaround that can be implemented and is defined below. Within the Simplifi Community, there have been a number of posts and requests for enhanced not features within Simplifi. This workaround is as close as possible to adding notes and documents to the accounts as it is currently possible the feature is implemented. After the fields are entered, either in full or partially, then click “Create” to save the transaction (record) to your Simplifi database.
The action is to create a transaction within the account and then add the note and document using the existing transactions field (image attached for reference).
- Open a new transaction to be added to the desired account.
- After opening, complete the entry of the selections and fields.
- Click on the reconcile icon to change from gray to green.
- Click on the flag icon and change to one of the colors that will be used to facilitate the finding of the account notes entered.
- Change the “Status” from Pending to Cleared.
- Enter “Balance Adjustment” or something that is meaningful and remember it can be searched in the filtering.
- Enter the Date that you want the note to be entered or leave as the current date.
- Enter the Amount as zeros (00.00).
- Enter the Account name or make the selection from the list provided.
- Enter the Category as “Balance Adjustment”. Using this entry, the exclusion from the Spend Plan and the Reports will automatically be selected.
- Enter or create a tag if desired, such as “Account Notes” or something that is meaning for filtering.
- Enter the Note text.
- Attachments can be attached with a limit of five attachments at the present time.
- Check # can be used as a document reference number, such as “2025-APR-01-01” or something else that is meaning. At present this field is not able to be filters, but this is treated as a document identifier.
P.S. if any member can append the voting entry, please do.
