Loan Payment Category identified as 'other spending' when it was a recurring bill

In the spending plan, a "Loan Payment" is counted towards "other spending" when it should be under "Bills" as it is marked recurring.

You can see the recurring icon in the transaction list below the chart, but you can see it is clearly included in the other spending total and not included under bills. (2 of the extra payments also listed there were not recurring, and they can be included under other spending)

Weird problem, for sure. Some questions:

    • Is Loan Payment an expense category?
    • Does the recurring payment show up in Bills for next month?
    • Can you post an image of the "Edit series" form for the recurring payment?

@DryHeat Your third question revealed the answer. The recurring series was set up as a transfer, which is excluded from the spending plan. The transaction category was something included in the spending plan. Fixing it now.

    Edit: worked, thank you

    Hello @RobWilk,

Thank you for reaching out! I tried testing to see if I could replicate the issue in my own Quicken Simplifi, but I could not. Is this happening only with the Loan Payment category? Is this happening exclusively in the web app, or are you also seeing it in the mobile app? Is this happening in the Other Spend for previous months also, or are you seeing this happening only in September's Other Spend?

I look forward to your response!

I am seeing this both on mobile (iPhone) and Web app. It is only this one loan payment this is happening to, but this is my first official loan payment (the first scheduled one).

Ultimately, the math on the spending plan is the same for left this month, but the other spending vs. bills on this one charge makes unplanned spending look worse than it is.

@Coach Natalie @Coach Jon — Can one of you change my post into a question? I want to mark it as answered. This is no longer a bug report.
