Using "Reset report" does not stick (edited)

About three weeks ago, I set a filter (Trust) for the Income & Expenses and now this filter is always active for the Savings and Income & Expenses for each session. I can clear the filter for the session, and it will not reappear. Buy have started to see that this filter will reappear during a session. I cannot see a pattern or sequence of actions that are constant when it reappears in a session. Then when I have a new Simplifi session, the filter is back for these two reports.

I have cleaned the cache numerous times to see if I can get this filter setting to disappear, but I have not had any success. Does anyone have some actions to try?

    Hello @Dick_Davis,

Thank you for reaching out! Logging out, then logging back in again will refresh your session and may help resolve the issue.

If the issue persists, then please provide more information. Which browser do you use? Did you make sure the browser is up to date? Do you get the same result when using a different browser? Does the issue happen in the mobile app also?

    I hope this helps!

@Coach Kristina, thank you for the response and recommendations.

I also log out after my session and log back in, this however is not removig the filter as described. I am using both the Edge and Chrome Browsers. I also have tried to clear my cache, and this has not removed the filter as described.

On the Mobile App (V5.40.0), this problem is happening therfe as well. I have tried this on my Smartphone and the Android Tablet, the same results.

Please tell me what to gather and send for review.

    Thank you again.

Is the Reset report link visible when you open up the reports page?

If so, have you tried clicking it?

If not, set a date range and a filter and it should appear. Then click it.

It may not help, but it's worth eliminating the possibility.

@DryHeat, the Reset Report link is visible, I clided it and the this filter cleared. I then move to transactions and then back to the Report, Income & Expense and the filter re-appered again. Set the date range and then logged out. Then back on and the filter reappeared.

I'm seeing this too, but in the Income report.

First I set a date range and a filter like this:

    image.png

Then I click Clear Filters and Reset report so now it looks like this:

    image.png

Then, after I close Simplifi and open it again, it looks like this:

    image.png

The filter goes back to what it was before I cleared it, but the date range remains at Recent 6 Months.

    Hello @Dick_Davis,

Thanks for the reply. Is this issue still occurring for you? I am unable to reproduce this issue from any report that you or @DryHeat mentioned, in the mobile or web application. Can you provide screenshots as well, so that we can verify the same issue is occurring for you both? Can you also let us know if this occurs in all reports for you or just the Income & Expense and Savings reports?

    Some additional data:

    1. Only one of my reports (Income) has the problem of reimposing a filter that has been cleared.
    2. When I impose filters on other reports, they do not reappear after being cleared.
    3. The filter that constantly reappears on the Income report is not the most recent one but instead one that I imposed some time ago — at least a week or two and perhaps longer.
    4. If I change the reappearing filter on the Income report to something else, then exit and restart the program, the old filter that I imposed weeks ago comes back. (In other words, it is not remembering the latest filter, but instead reimposing that one particular filter over and over.)

It seems that there is something about that particular filter (or when it was imposed) that has made it an unchangeable default setting.

    Hello @DryHeat,

Thanks for the additional data! Did you also notice this issue in other web browsers or the mobile application? I still cannot reproduce this issue, so I am wondering if this is dataset-specific. Let us know!

I do not use the mobile app. The result is exactly the same in these two web browsers:

    • Chrome Version 140.0.7339.208 (Official Build) (64-bit)
    • Edge Version 140.0.7339.208 (Official Build) (64-bit)

    Using this operating system:

    • Windows 11 Pro Version 24H2 OS Build 26100.6584

I suspect that this has something to do with when the reappearing filter was put in place. Filters I put in place now do not show this behavior. Perhaps when the ability to remember filters was added to QS something got locked in as the default state.

I tested when first report and Coach Kristina asked if it is happening on the mobile app. I reported yes to that request

    @Coach Natalie

Was there something special/unusual you did that allowed you to reproduce this problem?

I ask because I'd like to avoid messing up the rest of my reports while this is being worked on.

@DryHeat, I just used the "reset report" option on all of my reports yesterday and then checked them again this morning. You should be able to proceed with using your reports (aside from working around the bug) as normal, while the issue is being worked on.

    Thanks!
