Ability to "hide" portion of a transaction that is split

If I make a purchase and then get paid back or plan to get paid back by a friend for their portion, I want to be able to categorize the expense and then hide it from my spending plan and reports. This was a function I used all of the time with my old financial tracking program (Mint).

What you can do is put the pay-back from the friend in the same category as the expense, and it will cancel out that spending in that category.

Example: $100 charge for dinner : entire purchase category dining

Friend pays back $50, For Friend's deposit (zelle/paypal/venmo/whatever) : use category dining

This will net a $50 dining charge.

This isn't mint, don't expect to use it the same way.

I agree it would be useful to be able to split a transaction and individually mark the splits include/exclude.

A couple of hundred other people also agree and have voted for this suggestion, which I think is suggesting the same thing you are. They say it is going to be implemented, but no one knows when.
