Request: link U.S. Bank retirement accounts
Hey there, I'm having trouble linking to my U.S. Bank IRA. When connecting the account through Simplify, I get the option to share bank account and credit card data from U.S. Bank, but no option for retirement accounts.
What I tried so far:
1. Selected each of the available U.S. Bank instances in Simplify when adding an account (none worked)
2. Checked through the U.S. Bank site to make sure there were no permission issues there
Regarding (2), I already link to U.S. Bank through another service (SoFi Relay), and that one is able to fetch retirement accounts, so I think I've ruled out the problem being on U.S. Bank's end.
Specifically, this is what I see on the U.S. Bank side for both services w.r.t. data sharing:
- U.S. Bank → Plaid → SoFi
- U.S. Bank → Intuit → U.S. Bank
So seems to me that Plaid requests all types of accounts, whereas Intuit only requests bank/credit cards. Would someone be able to help fix this connection? Thanks in advance!

Hello @mattyrazz7,
Thanks for reaching out! To confirm the issue, you are able to connect; however, your retirement accounts are not coming through, correct? I know that U.S. Bank Investment accounts are unsupported, themselves. Are the accounts you are trying to add categorized as Investment accounts? This may also be token-related. I would try the following steps to make sure:
- Navigate to the bank's website, sign in, and then remove Quicken's access from the bank's third-party linked apps.
- Make all of the accounts with the bank manual by following the steps here.
- Once you see the account(s) listed in the Manual Accounts section under Settings > Accounts, go back through the Add Account flow to reconnect to the bank.
- If the connection is successful, carefully link the account(s) found to your existing Quicken Simplifi account(s) by following the steps here.
Let us know how this goes!

Correct, I am able to connect but I cannot get my retirement account to come through.
It would be classified as an investment account (IRA), so that's probably the issue here. Is there a plan to add support for U.S. Bank investment/retirement accounts?
And thanks for the debugging steps; I'll go through those just in case that fixes anything
Update: no dice; connection still works fine but retirement accounts still aren't being shared

Hello @mattyrazz7,
Thank you for the reply! It appears that U.S. Bank's access token does not support investment accounts. U.S. Bank Investment Accounts can be found in our Unsupported Banks List, and you can follow this list for updates if that changes going forward.
Sorry for not having better news for you! You can track your investment accounts manually as well. Here are the steps to do so:
- Make the account manual so you can add and edit Holdings: How to Make an Account 'Manual' | Quicken Simplifi Help Center
- Add/edit your Holdings to keep accurate records: Tracking Investments in Quicken Simplifi | Quicken Simplifi Help Center and Tracking Investments in Quicken Simplifi | Quicken Simplifi Help Center
