Can I separate my Simplifi and Quicken into two different accounts?

For about three years I've used Quicken Classic Premier on a Mac to manage a family elder's affairs and Simplifi on my phone and in a browser app to manage my own. Unfortunately, they use the same email to log in, so I must have set them up as part of the same account, though their annual payments occur at different times. I don't want this, since at some point the Quicken account could conceivably be transferred to someone else for management.

Quicken/Simplifi phone support said there is now no way to separate them. They also said if I set up a new Simplifi account, there's no way to export all my data from the current one and then import it into the new account, because the data is linked to the account email (???).

So, I am here to double check this feedback. Do I have to start all over and lose three years of Simplifi records to get these accounts separated?

@turtle, I'd be happy to help answer this for you!

When it comes to Quicken Simplifi, it is true that the data is tied to the Quicken ID, which is the email address used to sign up. It is also true that you cannot export Quicken Simplifi data from one dataset into another under a different email.

However, with Quicken Classic, I do believe that you can save the file on your computer and then import that file into a different Quicken account. This may be a question better posed to the Quicken Classic Community, since Quicken Classic allows more export/import options for data files. Here is the link to their Community: https://community.quicken.com/

I hope this helps to clarify a bit!

Thank you! Great idea. I don't know why I didn't think of that.
