Please add “OpenBank.us”. This is a great high yield savings account that many of us are using. I have added my vote for this, but it is always frustrating because the Simplifi team never provides any feedback on our requests.

    Hello @shahpr98,

Thanks for reaching out! I converted your missing financial institution request into a discussion, as we do need the URL you use to sign in to the bank's website. Can you let us know what that URL is?

    Where ?

    I am not seeing it.

Coach Jon - I get it. Had just seen my message and your reply. I did not scroll above.

Any idea when this bank will be added ? Seems it is request by many since Sept 2025. It should not take so much time.

@Coach Jon way back in 2024 when this discussion was first opened you stated the URL (openbank.us) and asked for confirmation. The original poster confirmed. Now a year and a half later you ask for the URL again? [removed - unproductive]

Any update on if or when openbank.us will be added? Has Quicken even reached out to Santander/OpenBank yet to begin the process?

    Hello @shahpr98 and @Galen,

We do not have any further news to provide on this request, and we also cannot guarantee that we'll be able to add support for a requested financial institution. We will definitely be sure to let you all know right away as soon as we have any updates.

    Thank you for your patience!

This can be expected from a free product, but this is a paid product and this important request is ignored. It's not even a new feature request, just adding a new major financial institution. [removed - competitor mention] added Openbank about a year ago, which is why I mostly switched. I had been planning to possibly try switching back to Simplifi after they added Openbank, figuring any day now after [removed - competitor mention] added them. But no, 1.5 years later and nothing. It's a shame, I like Simplifi, but this was a deal breaker.

    Coach Jon

No news is not the answer. By adding a bank - do they pay you money ? If not - since Quicken - Simplify - already get money for yearly subscription - would it not be prudent to provide the exact reasoning why this is not added ? just mentioning no further news - is not what this platform would accept. If you cannot answer - then maybe someone higher up - who is in charge of adding this bank account and making in Simplify software compatible with Openbank.us should answer. Hope this helps in pushing it up the chain of command.

@Coach Jon I understand you cannot guarantee you will provide support for any particular financial institution - at least partly because the financial institution in question must take some kind of action, that Quicken/Simplifi is not responsible for.

However, to say "We do not have any further news", when NO news has been given in the past, is not an answer. Has Quicken/Simplifi taken ANY action with regards to OpenBank.us support? Has Quicken reached out to anyone at OpenBank.us? Has the Quicken/Simplifi developent team responsible for adding new financial institutions even looked at the request? Or is it just sitting there in a pile of tickets, with nothing being done in a year and a half since it was requested?

I guess the question isn't "what's the most recent update", the question is What actions have been taken, in total, on this request?

@Coach Natalie thank you for that helpful answer (sincerely). So that we can better understand how to engage in this… I understand your recommendation that we contact OpenBank.us directly and ask them to add Quicken support. I have seen similar feedback in the past when there have been temporary issues with bank connections.

Is it the case that Quicken support for a financial institution is the responsibility of the financial instution, and not of Quicken? That is, is it true to say that Quicken cannot do anything because the Financial Institution owns that responsibility entirely? Or is it a shared responsibility, where Quicken and the FI must both take some action?

I will reach out to OpenBank.us today and submit a request, to (hopefully) get the ball rolling on their end.

Update: I just got off the phone with OpenBank. They said that they will not be adding support for 3rd party apps.

So I guess the only solution is to close my account there and move my money elsewhere. Disappointing.

    Thanks Galen for the update.

But someone - year10k - had mentioned earlier that - some other competitor - a 3rd party - has support for OpenBank.

So does not make sense. anyway - as mentioned - by Simplify - will have to wait till they have any update.

    Thanks.

A few Simplifi competitors use a 3rd party data provider (MX, Plaid, Finicity) to connect to Openbank. Does Simplifi not use any of those providers for connections?

  • Galen

Are you sure it's the same OpenBank? There are two different OpenBanks. There is OpenBank.us by Santander, and there is myopenbank.com, which is a different institution. Any time I've tried to connect to my OpenBank.us account via Plaid, Mastercard Connect, etc, the only OpenBank that comes up in the list is the myopenbank.com one, which isn't the one we are talking about.

I'm sure it's Openbank.us by Santander, I have accounts there. The connection from the "other" web-based Simplifi competitor has been working perfectly for a few months. I just checked to see which data provider it is using to connect to Openbank. It's MX. Hope this helps.
