QBP: Zelle payments should not automatically be transfers (edited)

I saw that this topic has been discussed for years in the forum section, but I was not able to find this as a suggested idea in the feedback section, so I add it now. This situation prevents us from writing rules for Zelle transactions.

Thanks for listening.

I do 4-5 Zelle payments a year and after I fixed them the first times and since they were recurring, I haven't had any problem.

But if one is using a lot of these especially in QBP, it could be irritating. I would say that when Simplifi doesn't know, a negative transaction should default to an expense.

But which expense category should it use?

I guess the argument would be that "Uncategorized" is better than "Transfer".

It doesn't bother me so much since I mark transactions as Reviewed once I review them and I regularly look at the unreviewed ones. So I'll just fix the category when it comes in.

I've just discovered this to be the case. I also noticed that, maybe because they're marked as transfer, they're hidden from spending plan and reports. This means I've missed some duplicates and often they are miscategorized. My understanding is that the transfer category is to indicate that we have transferred funds between our accounts. Zelle is intended for sending or receiving funds from third parties. Why would that ever be a transfer? I agree with EL1234 that "uncategorized" is much better. Then it triggers the existing standard reminders to review uncategorized transactions.
