Cannot "clear" a transaction that was created via a transfer within a split

I am seeing an issue and hope you can help fix it.

I had a pending transaction which I split into two. One part of the split is categorized as a transfer to a manual account. This created a transaction in the manual account for the other side of the transfer. Since the original transaction was Pending when I did this, the manual transaction is also marked Pending.

Since then, the original transaction has cleared. However, if I try to mark the manual/split transaction as cleared, I get an error:

Cannot update transaction "PAYEE - REDACTED", the other side of the transfer is in a split. To update it, edit the transfer transaction in the transfer account.

But if I go to the other side of the transfer, I can't mark it as cleared - since it already is cleared!

This is just reminding me why I usually wait to edit my transactions until they clear.

Meanwhile I am curious if there is an official way to fix this.

(I know that I could change the category of the other side, which will delete the manual transaction, and then change it again to recreate the transaction as cleared - but I will wait for now in case you want more screenshots or something, as this appears to be a bug that should be fixed.)

I know that I have been unable to directly clear a transfer transaction created by a split. But I think in the past I have gotten around that by un-clearing and then re-clearing the main transaction (the one with the splits).

I know you want to wait to see if there is an official response, but later on you might try that to see if it works.

It turns out that I couldn't unclear and reclear the main transaction, due to:

"Sorry, but you cannot change a cleared bank downloaded transaction to 'Pending'"

So I had to manually change the category of the split so that it wasn't a transfer, allow it to delete the orphaned transaction, and then change the category back so that it would recreate that transaction. Very not ideal!

I hope Simplifi is planning improvements to Splits that would solve this and similar issues.

@EL1234 I have had problems with the unclearing a downloaded transaction too. The downloaded transaction was a pending transaction, not a cleared one! It is a nice feature when it works.
