How to produce a sales receipt for a paid invoice? (edited)

Question

Does a means or method exist to provide business clients with payment receipts?

For many businesses, reconciling payments to invoices is adequate. However, I have a client that is requesting a receipt to acknowledge payment has been received.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm not finding a way to generate a sales receipt from an invoice or an invoice payment transaction directly. Instead, it looks like you need to generate a Sales Receipt using the same items that were listed on the invoice to be able to provide your client with a receipt for their payment and an itemized list of what they paid for.
