Bills also appearing as Other Spend in Spending Plan

As I reviewed my current monthly spend, I noticed that my utilities, which I set up as recurring bills series, also appear in Other Spend, effectively being counted twice against my monthly cash flow.

Am I correct in believing that bills series should be excluded from Other Spend?

Is there a reason for this? If not, does a known workaround exist?

A possible explanation is that what is showing up in Other Spend is a payment that has not been linked to the Bill that you set up.

If the Bill is still listed as "Unpaid" and the payment has been made but is not linked to the bill, then both the amount of the expected bill and the amount of the payment will be counted against your monthly cash flow.

Good thought. Unfortunately, I'm referring to transactions that already have been linked to their correspond bill series - which I should have made clearer in my original post.

Being utility expenses, the amount varies nominally but all transactions have been linked to corresponding series reminders.

When you look at your Transaction Activity list for the account from which the utility is paid, do you see more than one transaction for the same expense? If there are two, is one of them linked to the Bill series but the other one not linked? (There have been cases in which transactions are downloaded twice.)

In any event, it might help if you posted images of the Transaction detail form for:

1. the paid Bill (which you can bring up from the list of Bills in Spending Plan), and
2. the same expense that appears in the list of transactions under Other Spend.

Seeing the detail on those transactions might help in figuring out what is going on. (Redact any personal information you don't want on the web.)
