Dismissing reminders should only dismiss that single reminder instance (edited)

If I dismiss a future reminder because I know i'm not going to need that particular reminder (for example, if i have weekly doctor appointments and the doctor cancels that week (or i do) due to travel or other reasons), I should be able to dismiss just that one individual reminder without dismissing all prior reminders.

The way this should work, similar to how it used to work when i first signed up: That reminder gets dismissed, the rest stay. If there are no additional pending prior reminders, then the next occurence date should be moved forward. If there are additional pending prior reminders, the next date should remain unchanged.

I don't remember an idea post suggesting that deleting a reminder should delete all prior reminders, so it is unclear who asked for that feature when it changed.

Yes, I completely agree. I like to try and make sure my spending plan stays in the positive and sometimes that means looking months ahead. Sometimes I want to dismiss discretionary subscriptions or membership dues for a month next quarter, for example, but keep all the others up to that point as well as the ones that follow the skipped month.

Would it work to change that instance to zero dollars? Maybe that's a good workaround for now… (you'll have to dismiss the reminder once it's due or when it's the next instance that's showing, but it'll keep the spending plan and cash flow correct meanwhile).

I actually use some 0.00 reminders, for instance, one prescription I get that requires no co-pay. This way if that changes and these things have a habit of doing that, I still have the reminder. It also reminds me when to expect my refill.

I've put in reminders of $0 to remind me to do something that can't be done until a certain date. Once I see the reminder is due (or overdue) I take care of whatever it is and then dismiss it. I wouldn't want to use it too often or it'll clutter up the reminders list, but for an occasional thing it's very convenient.

I’ve never tried dismissing a reminder way out in the future to know this is how it works. I agree that that’s how it should work and voted accordingly.

I missed some of this discussion - I also use $0 reminders, but didn't think of doing that instead of dismissing. Yes, as a work-around that can work, but I'd still have to manually clear them when the reminder hits because it wouldn't match a bank transaction.

I'm in agreement with this. Can't really understand why deleting a future reminder removes all reminders up to the date of that reminder.
