Manual asset market value linked to account creation and not "Opening Balance" date (edited)

I added a manual "real estate" account today (Mar 18, 2026), then created an "Opening Balance" transaction for the purchase date (Jan 17, 2025). I would expect the account's "Market Value" chart to show the opening balance of $2.5M as of the opening balance transaction date, but instead it is shown at the account creation date (Mar 2026).

Why does "Net Worth" not pay attention to the "opening balance" date? How do I modify the "account creation" / effective date?

Thanks for reaching out! It is by design to start tracking balances from the day the account was added, rather than from the date of the opening balance transaction, for all manual accounts in Quicken Simplifi. We do have a great idea post you can vote for and follow that may interest you here:
