What happens when you mark a bill as Paid when the payment clears the bank?

When I mark a bill as Paid, a transaction is created by Simplifi. What happens when the payment clears the bank? Are the transactions merged? Does the one from the bank replace the original? If not, can you replace it manually?

    Hello @mamerica,

Thanks for reaching out! To answer your question, once the payment clears the bank and populates, Quicken Simplifi should automatically recognize and merge the downloaded transaction. If they are not automatically matched, then you can manually link/merge them to avoid double-counting in Quicken Simplifi. https://support.simplifi.quicken.com/en/articles/3625912-managing-recurring-transactions#h_dbd71295b9

    I hope this helps!

Thank you for taking the time to respond! I want to mark my utility bills as paid when I pay them because I sometimes forget whether I did. Before I started using Simplifi, I used Apple Calendar to keep track of my bills so I was trying to figure out if I could simply mark them paid in Simplifi without the need to mark my calendar.
Thanks again for the quick response!
