Savings Goal contributions/withdrawals (with dates/amounts) appear in Spending Report (edited)

This month I made two contributions to two different Savings Goals. When I ran a Spending Report, those two contributions show up under "Transfer" (although their amounts are excluded from the totals). In the listing, the Account is the one I charged the contribution against. The Payee and Tag are the name of the Goal and its related auto-created Tag.

A withdrawal I made (not shown in this image) also shows up in the same section of the Report.

I don't recall ever seeing this before. I was under the impression that Simplifi did not keep a transaction-by-transaction record for Savings Goal contributions, but when I run a report for earlier months I can also see the amounts and dates of contributions made back then.

UPDATE: This issue about Savings Goal contributions and another issue about regular Transfers appearing in reports has been replicated by @Coach Kristina and forwarded up the chain for investigation in another thread.

BUT: For me, the more interesting thing about this is that Simplifi actually keeps a record of the dates and amounts of our contributions and withdrawals from Savings Goals.

The ability to see (and maybe alter) those "transactions" has been requested for a long time. My impression has always been that Simplifi didn't have that data … it just kept the totals updated. Now that we know the data really is there, perhaps there will be some way provided to access it in the future.

@DryHeat, thanks for letting us know about this issue!

Although I suspect transfers showing in reports now is by design, considering our Idea post here was marked as in progress less than a month ago, I'm not sure about seeing savings goals contributions/withdrawals as transactions under transfers. I presume this is a bug, but I have reached out to our product team to confirm. I will let you know as soon as I hear back!

@DryHeat, I confirmed that transfers are now in reports, but that savings goals should not be showing as transactions anywhere in the program. This was filed as a bug and will be fixed in the near future!

Actually, I hope they don't change this. It's good to be able to see Savings Goal contributions/withdrawals somewhere in the program.

By filtering on the Savings Goal automatically created Tags I am able to see my entire history of contributions and withdrawals. And by Tagging transactions that use Savings Goal money, I am able to see how I have used Savings Goals over time.
