QBP: Sync Report Filters (Personal/Business) with Account Designations (edited)

The Issue: The "Personal/Business/Both" selector in Reports currently relies on Category labels for individual transactions rather than Account designations.

The Proposed Solution: Update the Reporting logic so that the Personal/Business toggle respects the Account Type:

  • "Personal" Filter: Should automatically include Personal accounts and exclude any account designated as "Business."
  • "Business" Filter: Should automatically include Business accounts and exclude Personal accounts.
  • "Both" Filter: Displays the combined data as it does now.

Benefit: This eliminates the need for users to bulk-edit years of historical transaction categories or manually toggle "Exclude from Reports" for every business account. It makes the "Personal & Business" upgrade feel seamless by using the account data Simplifi already has.

    Hello @HerPurposefulPockets,

Thanks for reaching out! We converted your post into a discussion, as it appears this feature is already available within Quicken Business & Personal.

In Reports, you can select the Business/Personal dropdown menu and choose whichever option, Personal or Business, you would like to view reports by.

By checking one option and leaving the other unchecked, it automatically excludes the other option from the report.

You can then choose the "Account" option in the "Display rows by" menu to break down the report by Account rather than by Category.

    I hope this makes sense!
