Recurring Credit Card Payment Series Keeps Changing Dates After Logout/Overnight

I’ve been running into an ongoing issue in Simplifi for at least the last several months.

I have two credit cards connected to their respective institutions. For budgeting purposes, I set up a recurring series for each card to reflect weekly payoff payments, since that works well for how I manage cash flow.

For example, I might set up a recurring weekly series to start on May 26. Initially, the series stays on the correct date. However, after I log out of Simplifi and come back later, or check it the next morning, the series has pushed itself forward by at least a month, sometimes closer to two months. Once that happens, I have to manually edit the individual reminder dates and keep pushing them back up myself. Manually changing the individual reminders seems to be the only way to make them stay put.

My suspicion is that Simplifi may be pulling the statement date or some other date from the connected credit card institution and using that to override the recurring series start date, even though it should not be doing that.

I did previously try chatting with support about this issue, but I did not get very far. The only suggestion I received was to turn off Bill Connect. However, I do not turn Bill Connect on when creating these series. It is off by default, and I always go back to confirm that it is still off.

This issue does not happen with any of my other recurring series. It only happens with recurring series tied to connected credit card accounts.

Has anyone else experienced this, or is this a known issue? Thank you!

    Hi @megtucker,

Thanks for reaching out to the Simplifi Community!

At this time, we’re not aware of any known issues specifically related to recurring credit card reminders automatically shifting dates. To better understand what may be causing this behavior, I’d like to ask a few questions:

    • Is Bill Connect currently disabled for these recurring series?
    • Does this happen with both connected credit card accounts, or only one?
    • Does the issue occur on both the Web and Mobile apps?
    • When the reminder dates shift forward, do they align with the credit card statement due date or another date provided by the financial institution?

I look forward to your reply!
