QBP: Add an Invoice Late Fee System (edited)

I'd like to charge my customers a percentage based late fee when their invoices past due date. This should appear as an additional charge on the invoice when an updated invoice with late fee is sent.

I think an ideal flow would be, I send a regular invoice, invoice past due date, I get notification to send an updated invoice with late fee added to it which gets emailed like a regular invoice.

On the accounting side, there's a history of invoice updates showing how the original amount changed month over month due to fee compounding. An example would be, original $100 invoice will get changed to $110 if the late fee is 10%. It will further change to $121 if the payment is delayed by another month ($110 + 10% new month's late fee).
