Net Worth: Dial Down to Daily Detail

When I look at my Net Worth, I'd like to click a date in the chart and have it open up the details for that day.

For example, I saw an unexpected dip in my NW on June 17, 2026. I'd like to click on "June 17, 2026" in the chart and have it open up a list of details below. This would put it in line with other areas of the site such as "Reports" where clicking on something opens up more information about it.

While my preference would be to see a list of transactions for that date that may have caused the dip, I realize that NW is calculated using only balances. So I would settle for the ability to click on the date in the chart and see my list of balances from that day.

All of this is to say, when I look at my NW chart, I want to understand WHY the data shows what it shows on any particular day.

I converted this to a Discussion so we can do some educating, as you can already accomplish a daily net worth breakdown by navigating to Reports > Net Worth, and changing the interval to "Day" —

Great idea! I've tried clicking on a spot on the net worth graph multiple times, hoping to uncover some info about what happened that day/week/etc.

Thanks, Natalie! I did not see this feature that you mention because I had clicked on the "Net Worth" option in the left-hand menu, under "Transactions." I would not have thought to look elsewhere, as the assumption is I would find the same data, just through a different series of clicks. Is there a reason why the left-hand menu view of "Net Worth" (which matches the dashboard widget) would be different than accessing the same information via "Reports" > "Net Worth"?

Finally, I would still like to suggest that NW use transactional information. The reason I saw such a big swing is because of a credit card payment that had left one account on one day and posted to the other account on the other day. I exclude credit card payments from reports since I see both sides of the transaction. I would not like my credit card payments (and other excluded transactions) to appear on my Net Worth. Because of this, the "Income & Expense" report is still a better match for my needs at this time.

@mmmartian, I'm glad to hear the Net Worth report seems to be more of what you're looking for!

As for the differences between the Net Worth feature and the Net Worth report, I'm afraid we wouldn't have that type of insight here in the Community. However, I can confirm that they are completely separate features.
